Rotate Rings Guide: every burst timed, nothing made up
What Rotate Rings actually is.
Most descriptions of Rotate Rings get it half right. The board is not a pile of interlocked rings. It is a network of pipe segments in five colors: C-shaped arcs, L-shapes, straight pieces and closed circles, joined end-to-end by silver connectors with a central cross hub where branches meet.
You rotate the loose segments until each color's open ends meet and the loop closes. A closed loop bursts off the board with a score pop, and here is the part that makes good players: bursts chain. Removing one loop can free the segments that were holding the next one, so a single correct turn can set off a wave that clears a whole cluster. Levels end with the board empty and a leaderboard mini-game called the Acorn Challenge.
How to play.
- Find the segments that hold nothing. Pieces whose rotation blocks no other segment are safe to turn; turning them first sets up the opening chain.
- Work inward, color by color. Match open ends of the same color until the loop closes and bursts.
- Watch for chain reactions. When a loop bursts, look at what it released. The next loop is often one turn away.
- Closed circles never turn. The full-circle pieces are fixed; every route has to be built around them.
- Grab the acorns. Golden acorns ride on specific segments and are collected when their loop bursts, and they feed the Acorn Challenge leaderboard after the level.
How our walkthroughs are made.
Each level page is checked against real gameplay footage frame by frame. For a typical level we sample the full video at 1 frame per second to map the burst waves, then re-scan the key moments at 4 frames per second to pin down exact timestamps, colors, scores and the endgame sequence. What you will not find here: invented move orders. If a step could not be confirmed on screen, we mark it as approximate or leave it out: a guide you can trust beats a guide that guesses.
Level walkthroughs.
Levels 11–31 and 33+ are being verified the same way. One level at a time, no shortcuts. More wave maps coming shortly.
FAQ.
What is Rotate Rings?
Rotate Rings is a free-to-play rotation puzzle by Nebula Studio for iOS and Android. The board is a network of colored pipe segments — C-shapes, L-shapes, straight pieces and closed circles joined by silver connectors. You spin the loose segments until each color closes a complete loop; every closed loop bursts off the board, and bursts can chain-reaction into neighboring loops.
How many levels does Rotate Rings have?
Full-game walkthrough videos cover levels 1 to 200, and community trackers list up to 260 levels. The game updates weekly, so new levels keep arriving — we add walkthroughs as we verify them.
Is Rotate Rings free?
Yes — Rotate Rings is free to download and play on iOS and Android. After each cleared level you land on the Acorn Challenge screen, a leaderboard mini-game built around the acorns you collected during the level.
How are these walkthroughs verified?
Every walkthrough is checked against real gameplay footage frame by frame: burst timestamps, piece colors, scores and the endgame sequence are all read off the video before anything is written. Waves timed at 4 frames per second carry a full-verification badge; waves timed at 1 frame per second carry a star badge and a ±1 second tolerance. Nothing is published that we could not confirm on screen.
Where can I find hints and answers for each level?
Every level page in the Level walkthroughs section above carries the full solution — the step order, the burst timings and the final score — so you can follow the whole run or peek at just the part you are stuck on.
