Overview

GridPaw is a free Akari (Light Up) puzzle game. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

Data We Do NOT Collect

GridPaw does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

• Financial or payment information
• Location data
• Browsing history
• Health information

Local Storage (No Account Needed)

By default, all game data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This includes:

• Your current puzzle progress and level
• Daily challenge streak and best times
• Game settings (sound preferences)

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in. Clearing your browser data will erase this information.

Optional Google Sign-In

Signing in with Google is entirely optional. The game is fully playable without an account. If you choose to sign in, we collect and store only what Google shares after you approve:

• Your Google account name and profile picture (shown on the leaderboard)
• Your Google account email (used only to identify your account; never shown publicly)
• Your Google account ID (a random number Google uses to identify you to websites)
• Your daily challenge progress: streak, best streak, best time, and completion dates

We use this data for exactly one purpose: syncing your puzzle progress across devices and showing the daily leaderboard. We do not:

• Send you marketing emails or newsletters
• Sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers
• Post anything to your Google account

Sign-in uses a secure first-party session cookie (mt_session) that contains no personal information — just a random ID. You can sign out at any time, which clears this cookie. To delete your account and all stored progress, contact us using the link below.

Chrome Extension

The GridPaw Chrome extension uses chrome.storage.local to store streak and puzzle stats locally. The extension:

• Does not collect any personal data
• Does not transmit data to external servers
• Does not use remotely hosted code
• Does not track your browsing activity
• Only accesses data on gridpaw.com to sync your puzzle progress

Third-Party Services

GridPaw is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type) as part of their normal hosting operations. For details, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

GridPaw does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The game is fully playable without any account, and sign-in is optional and intended for users 13 and older. The game is suitable for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
